- 以多恶弃人,而以小失发端,是藉弃者以口实,而自取不韪之讥也。曾有一隶,怒挞人,余杖而恕之。又窃同舍钱,又杖而恕之,且戒之曰:“汝慎,三犯不汝容矣!”一日在宴,醉而寝。余既行矣,而呼之不至,既至托疾,实醉也。余逐之。出语人曰:“余病不能从,遂逐我。”人曰:“某公有德器,乃以疾逐人耶?”不知余恶之也,以积愆而逐之也。以小失则余之拙也。虽然,彼藉口以自白,可为他日更主之先容,余拙何悔!
